Blue Jean Bling Hosta

Description

Hosta ‘Blue Jeans Bling’ is a medium-sized, shade-loving perennial (21″H x 36″W) featuring heart-shaped, blue-green, ruffled leaves with creamy margins. Introduced in 2019 by D. Ruff/B. Solberg, it produces near-white flowers in mid-to-late summer, thrives in zones 3-9, and is known for its intense, rippled, and slightly cupped foliage.

• Appearance: Features blue-green, heart-shaped leaves that are lightly dimpled and gently cupped.
• Unique Detail: The foliage is rimmed by intensely ruffled, narrow white or creamy margins.
• Size: A mature specimen typically reaches 21 inches in height and 35–36 inches in width.
• Flowers: Produces near-white flowers in mid-to-late summer. 

Growing Conditions

• Hardiness: Thrives in USDA Zones 3 through 9.
• Light: Prefers shade to filtered light; blue-leaved hostas generally require shadier conditions to maintain their color.
• Soil: Best grown in moist, well-drained, loamy soil rich in organic matter.
