Description

The quintessential carnivorous plant. Charles Darwin called them the most wonderful plant in the world and were inclined to agree with him. This species is endemic to a small area of the Carolinas but has been selectively bred over the years to produce a huge number of unique and interesting cultivars with different colors and trap forms. Smog produces traps with very long cilia and interesting red patterns in the center of the trap in late summer. The pigmentation is distinctly different from the more typical all-red trap interiors of other flytrap cultivars.
