Epimedium ‘Cosmic Stars’ is a 2019 Plant Delights/JLBG introduction. This amazing hybrid is a much improved and refined Epimedium x omeiensis-type plant, that produces slightly smaller, but dramatically more flowers than its parent. Each 10″ tall x 32″ wide clump is adorned, starting for us in mid-March, with over 60 arching flower sprays, each containing 50+ flowers….that’s 3,000 flowers! As soon as each main stalk is finished, up to two dozen more flowers are produced from the developing axillary flower stalks. The dramatic flowers are composed of dark purple inner spurs and mauve outer sepals…true elegance!
