Description
A member of the Honeysuckle family, Honeyberry is grown for its blueberry-like fruit. Native to Russia, the small shrubs are hardy to zone 3 and are easy-to-grow with no pest or disease problems. The soft gray-green, velvet-like foliage has a spreading habit and the shrubs usually reach 3 high and 4 wide. The tasty, easy-to-harvest fruit looks like elongated blueberries. The fruit may be eaten fresh or frozen to enjoy later. Aurora is a very productive variety that ripens over a long period usually mid-July to August. The large berries are easy to pick with a sweet flavor. Indigo Gem is the cross pollinator. We also offer a Honeyberry Set: Aurora’ and Indigo Gem since 2 varieties are needed for pollination.
