Sambucus racemosa ‘Plumosa Aurea’ is a medium-sized shrub with highly ornate dissected leaves. The colourful golden-yellow leaves are bronzed when young and consist of five leaflets, with each one elegantly dissected. Conical sprays of small cream flowers appear in spring and may be followed by ornamental red berries in summer.

This is an extremely hardy variety of Elder and can tolerate some wind exposure. Plant in full to partial sun in a moist but well-drained site.
