(12-18″ tall x 18-24″ wide) SteppeSuns Sunset Glow Penstemon is the result of more than 20 years of breeding work at the Denver Botanic Gardens. This plant enjoys a well-drained, non-clay soil in part to full sun conditions. In low elevation-hot summer locations, Sunset Glow needs afternoon shade and regular irrigation. Recommended companion plants include English lavender, Hymenoxys (Thrift-Leaf Perky Sue) and Old World Salvia such as ‘May Night’ and ‘Caradonna’. Best suited at elevations up to 7500 feet. Introduced by Plant Select waterwise, garden-tested plants proven to thrive in the high plains and intermountain west for more beauty, with less work.
